                     WELCOME TO MHIME

Our nature based programme, based on our own family lifestyle, has helped many people over the years in finding natural solutions to deal with personal trauma or every day mental health issues in their lives.

We are a musical-agricultural-artistic family, with our life experiences covering many areas that align with good Mental health. Our programme is open to everybody.

Therapy for us is all about creating space and time. Our approach to Therapy is simple. We provide a safe, quiet, relaxing space in nature, with clean air, good food and a healthy approach to life. This foundation provides you with the space and time you need to explore and understand your mental health. All we ask is you bring a relaxed approach, an open mind, with enthusiasm and willingness to reconnect to the land and trust nature to take care of the rest. With this combination, everything else should fall into place naturally.

We have an easy to follow programme which we have lived by all our adult lives, and we recommend this to all participants on arival.

This involves a stress free daily diet, based on the mediterranean diet, hydration, exercise, relaxation and rest.

Everything we provide is shaped to your daily needs.

Most of our nature based therapy is about being active out on the land, with lots of short breaks in between, and short-long walks in the countryside before sun up or sun down. We actively encourage all our participants to join us for gardening, in the vineyard, olive grove, veggie plots, and working with plants or trees, be it cutting, chopping, pruning, harvesting, recycling, rebuilding, crafting or simply sitting back, taking in where you are, being in the moment and reconnecting. We encourage full participation while staying with us. However, your level of involvement is entirely up to you and is entirely seasonal.

The following reviews were made by Participants on our Nature based programme over the last 10 years, from 2015 to 2025. In order to protect the privacy of the participants and their reasons for attending the programme, we have included their first names, profession and nationality only.

It’s hard to decide where to start this review - there is so much we want to say. Graham and Saranne are absolutely fantastic people. Insanely kind and wildly generous, the whole family made us feel comfortable the minute we stepped through their door and made sure it stayed that way until the very last moment when we were send off with full bellies.

During our winter stay, the rockstar family made sure that we had enough (fresh and good) food to eat and lots of wood to keep the wood burning fire glowing. Next on the list of why you should absolutely stay with Graham and Saranne, is: Ziggy. An absolute blessing of a dog. He's Weirdly human, very playful and sweet who loves cuddles and attention. We connected with him very quickly and we miss him already.

We helped Graham with the wine bottling process and prepared the farm for the winter season, which included tasks like: clearing the land and surrounding property, pruning olive trees, fertilising and planting young apple trees which we really enjoyed and of course cutting wood.

Graham has an enchanting personality and made us laugh a lot, creating a relaxed and comfortable working environment. He is knowledgeable, experienced and more than happy to explain anything you ask him. He also always has a saying up his sleeve, some of which we now proudly adopted.

In between, we would often get lost in conversations with Saranne about everything and nothing. She’s a great listener with a witty personality, which made it very easy to talk to her, often leading us to lose track of time.
You quickly realise that both Graham and Saranne have lived more than just one life. This not only armed them with infinite stories to tell, but also made us bombard them with a million questions as we set out on our journey, which they answered with seemingly endless patience. We admire them and their mix of humor, experience and curiosity a lot, and thank them for giving us these amazing 3 weeks in which they made us feel part of their family. We cannot recommend a sabbatical here highly enough.

Graham and Saranne were great hosts and I had an unbelievable experience here. They have a wonderful home, two great children, and a lifestyle I am very jealous of. Each morning you wake up to a fantastic and very inspiring view, surrounded by the hills of Le Marche which are right outside the window. Their home is surrounded by olive trees, grape vines, and all kinds of wildlife. It was a great experience being immersed in so much nature. They also have an awesome natural swimming pool that I was a huge fan of. If you are looking for a great place to find total relaxation, space and inspiration, and great people to share with, then this is the place. They go above and beyond in taking care all your needs. The meals were fantastic and I learned a lot being involved in the kitchen and prepping. Graham and Saranne also made sure I saw the surrounding towns to get the most put of my stay there. I higly recommend staying here if you are looking for freedom.

We had a wonderful time with Saranne, Graham. They were very welcoming to us, and made us feel part of theirs straightaway. We arrived at the end of season (Autumn) and got involved with finishing up their natural pool, some planting of trees and a short spot of olive harvesting. They have put a lot of love and care into building up their livelihood here in nature and their enthusiasm is very infectious - they are excellent ambassadors for alternative living and for an organic, simple life. During our stay, We also had plenty of opportunity to get out, explore the area, meet people and discover the area. There is an awful lot to learn here from Graham and Saranne, at all times of the year. Thanks for two lovely and inspiring weeks and we hope to see you again next year on our way back.

Graham and Saranne and their two beautiful daughters are the most loving and gracious host family anybody can hope for. I was lucky to have spent three weeks at the farm with the family and can honestly say that I will be back in a heartbeat. The farm can sometimes be tough, as all smallholdings are, but I found being involved was incredibly rewarding. I was lucky enough to have experienced the wine harvest, jam making, olive grove pruning, painting, collecting firewood and swimming in the revolutionary natural pool. Graham and Saranne are really down to earth people who love a good conversation, delicious food and a glass of wine or beer. The whole atmosphere is super relaxed with a lot of music setting the mood. I feel privileged to have stayed with this beautiful family and look forward to returning one day!

I am so very thankful for my time with this family. Graham and Saranne are both amazing and lovely people that made me feel very at home. I learnt lots of new practical skills, both working with the land or with recycled wood, and always with the wellness of the environment in mind, which is very important to me and the main reason for my stay. Graham was always right there with me and he makes the day an enjoyable experience with humor and music and patience.
Both Graham and Saranne are also amazing chefs! Every meal I had with them was impressive and delicious, which kept a foodie like me very happy. Their home that they built is a phenomenal one...so incredibly beautiful and comforting, and above all, calm and very quiet.
I was honored to be a part of their lives for the time that I stayed, which was just over two weeks.
Thanks again Saranne and Graham!
With love,
Heather

I would like to praise the amazing and beautiful project and life Saranne and Graham have created and welcomed me to be a part of. Graham's keen desire for sustainable living with a realistic set of values, combined together in an easy going and fun personality, and Saranne's overall healthy, positive and generous approach in life made my stay here one that I will never forget. Both cooked up some of the best meals I've ever had and were wonderfully flexible to cater for my specific dietary requirements (vegan) which always makes me feel more at home than I might otherwise expect to feel. There home sets the tone for those wanting to escape the chaos of city life, and get back to reality in the country side, growing much of their own food, wine, olive oil and making all of their own amenities. Their two daughters now have a special place in my heart and I hope one day to see them all again. Thank you so much guys for all your help.

Oh my goodness where to begin with this outstanding family and experience! Saranne and Graham made me feel like one of the family as soon as I arrived. They are some of the loveliest, most interesting people I have ever known and the girls are so adorable and funny! I truly missed them all the second I left, and I still do! Their home is stunning and I still find myself baffled by the amazing projects that have been imagined and built there. In what felt like the shortest month of my life, I have grown so much in my skills and experiences that I cannot thank this lovely family enough. I would absolutely recommend Graham and Saranne to anybody looking to learn about natural living, and working outdoors in nature with wonderful people. Thank you Saranne and clan!

Ive been back home for over a month now and still find myself telling anyone that will listen about my experience staying with the Saranne and Graham. The 3 weeks I stayed with them was easily one of the highlights of my 12 months travelling abroad and I cant thank them enough. Working in the olive grove with Graham, Ive learnt so much, not just about pruning and maintaining olive trees but a new attitude toward life and its priorities. Graham and Saranne are fantastic people, extremely easy to get along with, gregarious, great sense of humour and open minded. They go way out of their way to make sure their guests are welcome and comfortable. Expect to become a part of the family, this is why I came here! Their house is beautiful and extremely comfortable. On top of all that, the food was plentiful and delicious! Thanks so much for everything. I really hope to return as soon as I can!

Graham and Saranne are incredibly wonderful, as are their two sweet daughters, Miri and Breda. I could not have asked or imagined a better experience. And I can't imagine it'll be easier to find a future experience as wonderful as this one! It was beyond any and all expectations. I can't say enough good things about it.

G and S's farmhouse is situated in a beautiful, beautiful location in the quiet and tranquil Le Marche countryside, just outside of Tolentino and right across from the picturesque town of Colmurano. They have done an amazing job redoing and rebuilding the place and turning it into a self-sustaining life and organic farm. The setting of everything is beautiful and provides such a wonderful, peaceful, non-distracted experience.
The FOOD. Unbelievable. Both Graham and Saranne are incredible cooks and I was constantly blown away by how delicious the food was from such simple and basic ingredients. Most all of the veggies we ate came from their garden and most everything else was local. Graham sometimes cooks and caters events to the nearby farmhouse guests and I was lucky enough to be his sous chef and help out at one of these events and test taste his incredible cooking. I learned a ton about breadmaking, veggie gardening, and cooking while staying with them and have been inspired to throw myself more into cooking and gardening.

We spent several evenings after dinner watching Chef's Table on Netflix (There are no TVs here) and getting culinary inspiration. Dinner was always delicious and paired with either a few beers or a few glasses (sometimes bottles) of their delicious wines.
On occasion, Graham and I went out on the town to catch some local classic rock coverbands at the local pubs and bars. A night out with Graham is unlike anything I've ever experienced. He is a source of endless entertainment and good, clean fun. The man loves his classic rock, Jazz, Electronic......and he put up with my love of classic diva Whitney. Be prepared to share and listen to some great music if you are blessed to stay with them.
Lastly, what made my experience so great was the incredibly welcoming spirit that Graham and Saranne have. You truly do feel like you've become one of the family and I believe it's more than just feeling. They've become like family to me and I know the feeling's mutual ; ). I will more than definitely be back soon and I hope many, many times to come.
All the best, Graham and Saranne!

LOVELY!! Is the first word that comes to mind when I want to describe my experience at this place. Graham and Saranne are very hearty people and made me feel welcomed all the time. The house, the land and the surroundings are marvellous. And the month I've spent there went fast as lightning!! I helped out on some land based projects and it was very rewarding, as we saw our progress on the land every day. We built pathways, stairs, a chicken coop, a compost bin. It was a real pleasure to work with Graham, who is always optimistic and pragmatic, and brings good vibes with him all the time. Saranne is also a very good host, always caring for the wellbeing of her guests. Well!! I feel very lucky to have lived this experience, and I'm sure that it will stay among my top scores. Thank you again for the great moments we had and for your friendship!! I wish you the best and I hope to see you again one day :-)

This is what a true land based experience should be! Get off the beaten track and out into the picturesque rolling hills where each day is as challenging as it is enjoyable. I learned a lot from Graham out in the field, getting our hands dirty pruning olive trees, working the vineyard and planting food.

Once I left it was a genuine struggle to get through the day without Saranne and Graham's fantastic cooking. I've never eaten better quality food in my life! If you love your music, you'll fit right in here, capping off each day with a glass of wine and conversation was a real highlight. But more than anything else the countless laughs we shared at the dinner table, the basketball ring, and out in the field made this a great experience for me. I'd recommend it to anyone, and just be prepared for a big one if Graham invites you for a night out on the town!

Graham, Saranne, Miri and Breda (not forgetting lil pup zigzogs) made me very comfortable in their stunning home and immediately welcomed me into their lives. I spent the first few days getting familiar with the surroundings, especially coming from the city. But then, I finally got stuck in helping Graham on the land. This involved fixing up some benches, maintaining some fencing, and even putting a roof on a shed. I was new to using power tools and wanted to get more experience, but Graham was very patient with me and kindly showed me the ropes. We then got stuck in to the olive grove which involved using a hatchet to chop and collect old olive branches for winter kindling. I found this a very mindful task and enjoyed it very much. Later during my stay, I also got the opportunity to harvest the black olives for curing which was great fun! Most days I would help out in the morning and then help out with lunch which Saranne had prepared. Every single meal was delicious without fail. I would also take Ziggy for his daily walk over to the nearby town of Colmurano. I loved doing this walk (picking wild asparagus along the way as taught by Saranne) and enjoyed having a cappuccino at the local bar with my book. Over my two weeks, while not concentrating on my music, I got to help with a variety of other tasks and gained lots of good life experience. I also loved sharing our mutual passion for music with the whole family. Miri and Breda are going to go far in the world of music i'm sure!

I spent two weeks here but I wish I could have spent longer. It absolutely flew by which as we all know is always a good sign. I would highly recommend spending time here if you are looking to get away from it all. The work on the land is good, the food and drink delicious but the company is even better!
Thank you again to the whole family for making me feel so welcome and I hope to come back and visit one day! Lots of love, Rob x

We had a great time staying with Graham, Saranne and the family. The Marche countryside where the farm is located is beautiful and there are lovely small towns nearby to enjoy local food and culture. We learnt a lot of valuable things about what makes good wine and good olive oil, and loved our daily walks spending time with their sweet dog Ziggy. Lots of music and creativity was shared during our stay, as well as many insightful chats about life and the universe over wine and tea. Thanks again for an incredible few weeks of living healthy and learning!!

How can I sum up three of the best months of my life in just a few words?! The adventure for me began with A-to-Z olive tree care—from harvesting and pruning, clearing the land, preparing for harvesting the olives to savouring the delicious oil at the end. What an amazing experience!! Most of my days here were spent outdoors: helping Graham with the veggie garden, pruning trees and grapevines, some woodworking, and the highlight for me, walking sweet Ziggy to the nearby towns along the many small roads that lead from the house. Evenings were spent building small fires, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying good conversations and Grahams organic wine. I also learned to bake bread, make mince pies, roast pumpkin; card games; brewed beer; drank wine; and I even built a bookshelf out of spare wood! Almost every day I’d walk Ziggy to town and mingle with the friendly Marchigianis over a glass of vino, coffee, a pastry, and a game of cards. Ziggy is well known in the bar and the town.

I spent Three months here in paradise, and it flew by in the blink of an eye. From the very first day I was welcomed as part of the family, their traditions reminded me so much of my own, making me feel right at home almost instantly. Graham and Saranne’s kindness opened my eyes to the beauty of slow, country living. Their patience, generosity, and willingness to share their knowledge of Italian farm life were truly inspiring. These three months made me reflect on what truly matters—and spoiler alert: it’s often the little things! “If this is the pace of life, then we’re moving at the right speed.”
If you love olive oil, wine, good food, great conversations, and finidng time to relax and reflect, this is the place for you.
Thank you, Graham, Saranne, Miri, Breda, and Ziggy, for welcoming me into your lives. See you soon!

I spent only a week at Graham & Saranne's place but I had an amazing time there ! They made me feel part of the family as soon as I arrived there. The vegetarian food was delicious, we had nice conversations and really good wine. It was a pleasure to take their dog Ziggy on short and sometimes long walks. This gave me good time and freedom to think and plan ahead.

While here, I helped Graham with pruning the trees and moving wood for the winter, we also pruned the vines and I really enjoyed this work in the vineyard. It was fun to work outside, and a nice workout to keep fit and healthy.
I had a lot of fun there and this is a beautiful property and region ! I was glad to experience life there with them. Thanks for having me, and thanks for accepting my last minute booking!

I stayed with Graham and Saranne for about 4.5 weeks over the end of August and September. As a digital nomad, My first week here at the farm involved taking care of their beautiful dog Ziggy for his afternoon walk. After settling in, my time was focused predominately on helping with the grape harvest and following wine production. Graham is extremely knowledgeable and taught me a lot during my stay about natural wine and low intervention processes. The wine harvest is extremely hands on and the beauty is, you see it ALL, the entire process. A very rare experience that I am so grateful for. I also helped out with gardening, cooking and some basic outdoor maintenance when I had free time.

The whole experience was very relaxed and authentic from start to finish. Our days were fairly structured with enough diversity to keep the experience stimulating, along with lots of free flowing banter to keep spirits high.

I had an amazing time and am so appreciative to the whole family for being so welcoming from the start and making my stay very comfortable. There is never a dull moment with Graham and Saranne, they are both always up for a good chat and have many stories to keep you entertained. Miri and Bréda were also really easy going, good conversation, creative and very talented musicins!!
It was a pleasure to share this experience in the beautiful Le Marche with them!!

I had an absolutely incredible time living with Graham, Saranne and their two girls for about a month this September 2024. I needed to get away from a very stressful working environment and once I found their profile, I knew it was for me. Although I was originally looking for a stay at a more large-scale vineyard and established French chateau, the hands-on work and behind the scenes experience with Graham and his low-intervention wine making approach was everything I could’ve asked for and much more. When I say hands-on, I REALLY mean hands-on.. as in deep down in a barrel of grape must, hands and feet! Come stay here for an alternative yet authentic experience of eco-farm living accompanied by great food, wine and company and you will soon realise the direction we all need to be taking in life.

I spent the most wonderful weeks in Colmurano at Graham's paradise. They are a lovely family, very artistic and easy going, especially Ziggy the dog, who is so chilled out and this can only be a reflection of the overall atmosphere in the house. We enjoyed nice meals, lovely wine and great conversation. Graham and Saranne like to integrate you in the family routine as much as possible so I never felt like an outsider. The accommodation they provide is very high standard and they really take care of every detail.
I am forever grateful for my time here and I hope to come back some day again.

Such a lovely family to be apart of for 3 weeks.
Graham is the main coordinator of the daily goings on at the house and land here. During our time here, we helped him with a variety of projects that we were seeking experience in, such as building steps with stones; stacking wood; building a natural wine cellar; cutting and nailing floor, walls and roof of wine cellar; recycling materials for insulation, helping with the natural pool; sand and varnish windows; plant veggies for the garden; walk the cute dog Ziggy each day; help with preparing lunch-dinner etc.

We really appreciated Graham’s flexibly, organization and open mindedness to us helping. The diversity of work on the farm made the days really enjoyable. Graham always made sure we we had the things we needed and that we were having fun while he tought us new skills. There were always some laughs going on during the day. Sometimes we worked without Graham and he gave us the freedom to do the task with our own creativity which, we very much appreciated.
Both Saranne and Graham are amazing cooks. Every meal we had was just simply amazing. We even cooked for everyone a couple times which was fun.
The accommodation is wonderful. We got our own bathroom and bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The farm is so quiet and dark, it is perfect sleeping conditions for a totally relaxing stay.
Not having a car didn’t hinder us at all. If you want to go to a bigger city, you can take a bus to Macerata which is a really nice nearby small city. The bus stop is a pretty moderate hike up to the nearest town, about 30mins. It is a small town typical of most small Italian villages. There are very beautiful views in the area and all around the farm.
We really felt apart of the family since the first day. Graham, Saranne, Miri, Breda, and Ziggy all welcomed us with open arms. We ate lunch and dinner together pretty much every day.

Saranne works from home so it was really nice to chat and get to know her as well. She would always ask us how we are doing and making sure we had everything we needed. Saranne is very easy to talk to, we could of stayed up late talking every night. Lol
Miri and Breda are spectacular humans. They are both so smart and talented. Miri taught us about music and inspired us to make our own music! Breda is an amazing singer and inspired us with her radiating confidence. We loved playing card games with the girls and listening to them sing, play all their instruments.
And of course the Zig Zogs. He is such a lovely pup. He is always so happy to see you and he loves to be chased around. It was fun taking him on his daily walks around the area and playing with him, this gave us free time to think about our lives while exploring the area.
I could keep going but I will stop here. If you want an amazing experience, shoot them a message!

What a gosh darn treat to it was to join up with Saranne and Graham for a couple of weeks. Their property and the views accompanying it are really something to write home about. If you’re looking to get off the beaten path, enjoy the sounds of nature, take a stroll through an olive garden at night accompanied by stars and fireflies; this is the place you need to be. The hospitality and generosity provided by Saranne and Graham made this stay amazing. If you’re looking to take pictures and make memories then this is a spot to achieve those goals.
I’ve been pretty spoiled living around the Rocky Mountains my entire life, but the mountain views from their front porch were absolutely stunning. The people, scenery, food, and being a part of gaining invaluable experience in an Olive Garden in Italy are all moments I will remember for the rest of my life.
Stay awesome Saranne and Graham!

Saranne and Graham were wonderful hosts! In the span of a couple weeks I was able to see and experience a beautiful part of Italy, taste some great wines, hike around the Monti Sibillinis with my friends who I came to visit. I got some great experiences here, and it was lovely to see the difference we were making around the house, especially with making the natural pool. We had a lot of fun putting 500 water plants in the pool while talking tigers and Van Morrison. It was a great experience with lots of wonderful food and conversation - Best of luck Saranne, Graham, Miri, and Brèda!

Saranne and Graham are warm, welcoming people and they make you feel at home and part of the family straight away (Be prepared to play lots of games). There was always a fun project to get stuck into here and helping to build the natural swimming pond was awesome. I couldnt recommend a better place to stay, with its amazing views and great food, plenty of cakes, well earned glass of wine at the end of the day and great pizza! All in all it was one of my top experiences and I cant wait to get back and see everything that I was involved in finished! Good luck with everything guys and see you soon!

Saranne, Graham are just amazing and super friendly characters. You’ll have to look hard to find a family as warm and welcoming as they are! I felt like a part of the family from the moment I stepped in the door. Graham is a great guy with a personality I will remember for life. It was a pleasure helping out at the farmhouse and I learnt so much about the organic lifestyle out in the countryside of Le Merche.

Food is indeed an important subject in this family and Saranne’s cooking alone would be a reason for me to stay longer. Get started on your Domino cooking book!! Anyone interested in nature with great scenery with a fun open-minded family should definitely come here. Pictures cannot capture the great scenery of this wonderful place. I will never forget the fantastic postcard-view of the green hills and the amazing snow capped Sibillini Mountains I saw when I first arrived at their front door. This family is very relaxed about everything and I learnt so much about their wonderful life in the area of Le Marche. Would definitely recommend a stay with this lovely family!

It's difficult to know where to start here.
I booked a stay with Graham to get some life skills and experience as my current job was not giving me anything back. Everything about stying here is slow, a slow but early start to the day, a long healthy breakfast, and a deep and very satisfying communal lunch. Food is very much, and very obviously at the heart of family life, and you're very much a part of the life of the family. Of course there's every option / opportunity to customise your stay and opt out of that kind of thing, but having experienced it I can't think of any good reason why you'd want to. The flow is so easy here, and the sense of being in touch with life's rhythm so strong, it's difficult to say exactly what you can expect, but the fairest thing, I think, would be to say that you really get out of the experience what you put in to it (more so than in most other places ive expereinced). In this sense there's a great sense of fairness, earthiness, and openness at the heart of it.
There's also a basketball court, STUNNING terraces scattered all over the land, a lovely, weird little town about 10 minutes down the road, and a big cold natural pool. And at the back of the house what I'll always be convinced is the greenest field and most wonderful views in the world. (on a sunny day you can see snow-capped mountains in your periphery, and the sun sets over all of it equally).
There are also lots of things I deliberately haven't covered here. Miri and Breda and their music you have to experience for yourself, and the views aren't done justice by any pictures. Basically if I were you and I were wondering where to go to escape the madness, I'd go here in a heartbeat. You might also learn to play chess or use a machete or Something Else, but you won't know till you go there and find out.....!
Finally, as much as it is anything else, this house is deeply good-humoured, & this is an important point.
Anyway : can't recommend 'em enough.

Brilliant hosts in a beautiful place. I was made to feel like a member of the family straight away, by Saranne, Graham and the girls. There was lots of time to do nothing or plenty of time for taking on bits of projects with Graham. When hanging out with Graham, we worked with a smile, plenty of laughs and tunes playing in the background. Saranne’s cooking was always excellent, the sooner they open the ranch restaurant the better. I had a few days of walking in the Sibillini mountains – another reason to make your way over to this fab place. Thoroughly recommend Graham, Saranne and the girls as hosts. Thanks so much, and miss you all.

We had a wonderful time staying with Saranne and Graham’s family! We felt very welcomed into their home and settled in nicely. We booked to get experience with the olive harvest and what we discovered was a lot to get stuck into! It was great to be part of the whole process and learn firsthand what it takes to end up with a quality bottle of olive oil. Lunch here is the main meal of the day and honestly without fail was always an absolute treat! Their dishes were so tasty and most days we ate outside looking over the beautiful countryside. Saranne was always incredibly helpful with organising our plans and suggesting different walks we could do and places to visit. Their children were great fun with bundles of energy – always up for a good game of Uno! All in all, it was a very pleasant stay indeed, just what we were looking for, thanks!

Saranne & Graham are people of the highest character, and I have no hesitation recommending them to others.
They've built themselves a mini-paradise within a quaint traditional Italian community which allows for plenty of cultural exchanges amongst a plethora of olive groves.
There aren't any surprises here so you can be confident in dealing with these musically talented chefs.
Saranne and Graham have two very positive and creative daughters which ensure the house is always full of humour music and energy. Basically if you bring a good open minded attitude you'll find it difficult to leave/forget these guys.
I'm looking forward to catching up with you all over the next few years and just might come do another stint once the rat race becomes too much!
Ps – to all those thinking of booking an expereince here, mention its your birthday and that you love quiche and watch what happens...trust me.

Graham, Saranne and the girls are amazing people. Very warm and welcoming, they have a beautiful home setup in a beautiful part of the world. While staying here, we got involved in very meaningful projects where we learnt some real life skills that we will take with us, from gardening and building to country living. We were made to feel a part of the family the minute we were collected from the train station, piled our bags into the car and immediately, the girls bombarded us with 20 questions as well as the proper pronounciation of pasta. (Pasta not parstar!) We really enjoyed our time there and hope to be able to visit again someday so that we can see what projects that we were involved in have been finished and what new projects are on the go. Also we never knew what proper olive oil tasted like before until Graham gave us a masterclass and tasting on the subject and its going to be hard to find something as good again!

From the day of our arrival, we felt very welcome in this family. Graham, Saranne, Miri and Breida (I hope I spell this correctly) are very warm, open and easy-going people. As we're planning on starting a homestead ourselves soon, it was very valuable to be immersed in the daily life of a homesteading family. We also really appreciated the interesting conversations and honest advice Graham and Saranne gave us. We mostly got involved in woodworking and preparing the vineyard and olive trees. The accommodation was very comfy and we enjoyed having our own bathroom. At weekends We visited the market in Macerata and did some hiking in the Riserva Naturale dell'Abbadia di Fiastra. Thank you all for an amazing 2 weeks and we'd love to stay in touch!

A beautiful experience! I am very thankful for the encounter with Graham and his lovely family. I got inspired from the way they live and approch life. I realised that I became even more grateful for the food I am eating and little things I have around me.
I spent two weeks at their farmhouse. pruning the olive trees, recycling wood, loosening soil in the vines, cutting wood...At the end of the day we did two or three times a big fire to burn the freshly cut branches. It was the moment to grab a beer or glass of wine, or Tea and sit by the fire while having good talks.
The days were clearly structured timewise. Graham is a really hardworking person and defenitely the best cook.
From the moment I got in contact with them, to booking and arriving, I felt very welcomed into their family! As Saranne is such a theatre lover as me, we had some great talks in which she recommended me a piece that was touring in Rome. So she did everything for me to make it possible to see the piece, which worked out in the end.
Thanks again for everything.
Hoffentlich bis bald. Liebe Grüße an alle!!

staying with this beautiful family was my first remote experience, and it was amazing.
Graham it's a really hard working man (non "la dolce vita" kind of man), always taking care of his family, excelente cook, the food was not only delicious but nutritional vegan dishes.
He's always making plans for the day ahead that can sometimes be changed in an open and close of eye, so if you get involved in his life in nature you need to be open for change, but he's a very good leader and you'll always have something to inspire you, alone or in his company.
his wine it's astonishing, at night he can relax and became another person, very relaxed, and charismatic next to the fire when the work is done.
Saranne makes a perfect team with Graham, and i really enjoyed the talks we had and loved her English accent.
Miriana and Breda are so talented young girls! wow, it was very inspiring hearing them singing, doing music, or the stories they bring from school.
and last but not least we have Ziggy aka "perro loco" who is always ready to eat everything as a good puppy, but well behaved, he is.
keep on playing that bass Graham!
hope to see you soon, in another great adventure with gardening and sound waves!
hugs to all the family.

All over a great experience!
Such an open and friendly family.
Such a beautiful place.
I really enjoyed my time in Saranne and Graham's beautiful and cozy place, the towns and landscapes around.
It's been only two and a half weeks but those days have been packed with great experiences.
I've seen the beauty of Le Marche and experienced the kindness of the people around me.
I gonna make it short because it woul be a way too long text if I describe everything I liked while staying here.
Thank you Saranne and thank you Graham for such a blast of a time!
All the good dinners, the kindness and the great introduction to Italy and Italian farmlife!
That's no goodbye that's an "auf Wiedersehen" :)

We stayed over 3 weeks with Graham, Saranne and the girls in the beautiful region of Le Merche. We were happy to enjoy our time with the chickens, the natural swimming pool, the cats and the beautiful garden. We then helped Graham during the grape harvest time. We learned a lot about natural wine making, including sorting and pressing the grapes. After the fermentation process we filled the barrels with the wine. Graham is very passionate about it and explained the whole processes to us.
If you decide to visite Graham after 18 months from now on, you may taste a "grand cru" with a French and German influence. Thanks all of you guys for your warm welcome, fantastic experience and the funny times we had together, it was definitely not a bore ;)

Our time at Graham and Sarannes place was amazing! Their property is one of the most beautiful properties we’ve stayed at and as soon as we arrived we were welcomed with open arms by Saranna, Graham, Miri & Breda.
We were lucky enough to get to work on Grahams beautiful vineyard where he taught us a lot and shared his wealth of knowledge with us about the vines and what we were doing to them to ensure that he would get the best results from the crop.
Graham, Saranne and the girls are just great people to be around, we had many great conversations, many laughs and meals together, we loved our time here and the passion they have for the land and life.
Some evenings we headed out into the town together for aperitivo or pizza some evenings spent playing cards or swimming in their amazing natural swimming pool!
Thank you for an amazing stay guys we can’t wait to come back. Love and miss you all. Eden & Tom xx

We stayed with Graham & his lovely Family for 3.5 weeks from the end of October to mid November. Right from the start they made us feel very welcomed and ensured that we were comfortable.
The main objective for us was to get experience doing the olive harvest, which sadly due to the unusual wet weather didn’t happened during our stay. But nevertheless there where a lot of other fun tasks to work on. We planted garlic and onions for the new year, helped looking after the chickens, and prepped the vineyard for the winter.
We also collected the last walnuts of the season which where immediately turned into a wonderful walnut pie by Graham that we all shared.

Graham also took the time to show us around Le Marche. He intruded us to Massimo ,the local truffle hunter, and Dog Sherry, who we went truffle hunting with.
On of our highlights with Graham and his many contacts was seeing the production site of a local artisan bakery with the panettone production in full swings. We got to sample their very tasty products, biscuits, chocolates and cakes and the delicious wine which they produce on site too.
We used eggs, veg and herbs available on the land and got a few other basics from Graham and away we went baking ourselves.
The apartment we stayed in was very comfortable and as chefs ourselves, their kitchen is very well equipped. Which was perfect to get the „Weihnachtsbäckerei“ started to the indulgement of everyone.
For my birthday, the whole family got hands on, everyone making pizza or baking cake and getting the best bottles of wine out, which made it into a very special celebration.
We shared plenty of nice evenings with Graham and the family, listening to good music (blacksploitation mix!!) and drinking fantastic wine.
Thank you all for having us!

From initial contact to booking, we felt a friendly, easy connection with Graham & jumped at the opportunity to stay at their property.
Going in blind, we looked at it as an exciting new experience & incredible adventure to escape, and boy it did not disappoint! The area in which they live is simply sublime. Surrounded by rolling green fields, wild flowers, endless olive groves & grape vines — truly beautiful.

We helped Graham tend the vines & veggie gardens, walnut cracking as it was harvest time and cake making. And not to forget the highlight of each day for us, walking the Zig Zog on his daily walk Such a funny little character.

Obviously it wasn’t all quiet time, as Vino, cheese, tunes & great exchange of banter & laughs by the open fire pit some evenings helped to end each wonderful day. Much to our delight, Graham so kindly took time out of his day to show us his favourite local wineries to experience the full spectrum of what the Le Marche region has to offer. All the while indulging us with his vast knowledge on all things grapes.

A highly enjoyable two weeks spent with Graham AKA GDawg ;) Saranne, the girls, Ziggy & the chooks. Looking forward to hearing news of the last wine harvest & hopefully returning to visit again in the future.
Thanks again guys x

We spent just under 3 weeks with Graham & Saranne, in November 2019. we didn't really know what to expect, but it was a fantastic experience from beginning to end.
Our days were mostly spent being outdoors, and we helped on the land - building paths, fences, painting, preparing material to be re-used. We particularly loved helping to turn the veg plots, and plant the Spring crop, quizzing Graham & Surrane all the time as we went! We worked with the sunlight and the weather, a few hours a day before lunch, then it went dark.

The food was nothing short of delicious! Both Graham and Suranne are excellent cooks, using produce from their garden and not letting anything go to waste. We loved getting involved in the Mediterranean diet - a big hearty lunch and a small light dinner.
We went to explore the local area - Graham & Saranne were very helpful in giving us tips on what we could do and how to get there. From hiking to visiting the nearby town of Mogliano, they helped us to make the most of our time here!
Graham & Suranne made it really easy for us to slot into their family life and get first hand experience of life on a smallholding. Their children, were a credit to them - sociable, easy going and really fun to spend time with.... It was great to give them a few rides in our campervan! At a time in our lives where we are transitioning - between jobs and looking to live out of London, they had some really helpful and practical advice on how we might do this.
We would return in an instant, thanks to the whole family for the wonderful experience!

Such a special place created by the loveliest people. From the moment I arrived till the moment I left, Graham and Saranne made me feel at home and happy. They are caring and sweet and have so much to offer in terms of learning (from bread making, to minimal waste living, gardening, permaculure..) There’s lots of time to bond and there’s always room for fun and good laughs. Grateful for my opportunity to be at their place, it’s a beautiful paradise in terms of location and a great energy created by the family. The entire experience was full of learning, planting, working on the land and getting your hands dirty! Saranne is the most amazing cook and playing cards in the evening with the family was loads of fun.. even if I lost pretty much every single time... hahah. My 2 weeks went by way too fast and I hope to come back one day . Thank you for everything and wish you both and the girls all the best!!

Graham, Saranne, Miri, Breda & Ziggy! :)
What a wonderful time we have spent getting to know this family.. Thankyou! We felt very at home as soon as we arrived in their beautifully restored farmhouse.
It was something new almost everyday we woke up. We spent some time in the vineyards, olive groves and veggie patches. We got involved in some dry stone walling and wood cutting. We also became fire masters ;)
If you love the outdoors you will love this place- We were always in fresh air and mostly always in the sun! We had delicious big lunches prepared which changed everyday depending on what was available in the garden, in the fridge or in the larder.

We really felt as part of the family in Graham and Sarannes home. We enjoyed our meals together - they make fantastic vegetarian food, delicious fresh bread and fresh produce either from the garden or locally sourced.
In between meals we would often have many games of cards, board games, and a few bevys in between. We learnt alot from Graham and Saranne and this stay taught us many things. There would always be conversation buzzing around the room.
We’d definitely recommend this experience. Graham and Saranne really embrace the exchange process and we have had an incredible time with them.
Give Ziggy a pat from us! We are so grateful for everything and we hope to see you again sometime in the future.
Best Wishes Jacob and Vaila

This was my first nature based experience and it was everything I hoped it would be and more. Saranne, Graham and their two girls welcomed me into their family and their gorgeous house in Le Marche straight away. After a few months of being on the road it was really wonderful to feel so at home!
The land based jobs I helped Graham with were quite inspiring, sometimes physically demanding but always manageable and there was a great sense of accomplishment at the end of the day looking at a finished project. I really enjoyed helping in the olive grove and I learned a lot from Graham about the care of olive trees and the production of oil.
Throughout the day we were always well fueled by Saranne's excellent cooking (I'll particularly miss the freshly baked bread!). In the evenings or weekends we all went out together and Saranne and Graham showed me round the local area. It was incredible to not only discover the local delicacies but also meet the people who make them! (I'm now a lifelong convert to Vino Cotto). Above all I loved sitting around the table sharing some Le Marche wine and enjoying great food and conversation with Graham and the family after the sun went down. Thanks so much for your wonderful and warm hospitality and hopefully I'll be able to come back at some point in the future!

Saranne, Graham, and their wonderful daughters were absolutely wonderful to stay with. They made me feel welcome from the very moment that I was picked up from the train station. They were accommodating in every aspect of my stay from directions on how to get to their home to getting on the train toward my next stop, and everything in between. Their home is very welcoming, cozy, and unique. They've done a great job decorating their home in a way that also describes their personalities. On the outside, the views are mesmerizing. There were a couple of days where we ate lunch outside and the views of the mountains and nearby villages was breathtaking. After staying two weeks with them, I can say that I have taken away some really great memories, a lot of fascinating conversations, and almost too many jokes. I would recommend these host and their home to anyone who is looking for good people, a great place to stay. I look forward to seeing them again!

Graham (aka Grey-Dog) and his family hosted us for a total of two weeks. It was so nice to arrive somewhere and it felt like you were home sweet home. Saranne, his wife is so lovely and also a great cook!! We also always enjoyed playing card games with the girls and hearing their beautiful singing voices.
We are so grateful to Graham and his family for the good times we had. We totally admire Graham’s nack for making use of recycled materials and we thank him for getting us to think differently about how you can make cool stuff out of ANYTHING!!
Our favourite time at the farmhouse was having a glass of wine after work and heading out to the fire pit...it started many good conversations.
We would totally recommend these guys for an experience if you just want a getaway to the peaceful countryside, to have a home away from home experience or to learn more skills out in the garden. We look forward to hosting you guys in NZ one day.

Saranne and Graham are just wonderful! I had a great experience with them.
They are really knowledgeable of what they are doing, I learn a lot from them. They have been able to realise their vision and you can see it in their beautiful house and land. The house is located in a valley with incredible views, you wont stop looking at it with awe. Stimulating days followed by fun evenings, lot of laughs, wine and amazing meals!

When getting involved with Graham, whatever it is, he makes sure you learn and know what you are doing, starting with great energy - "Mise en place"and "Where there's a will, there's a way" attitude.
Time is really chill around the house, from enjoying wine and music, having great conversations, and also visiting near towns and enjoying the local communities. They are Smiling all the time, they make you laugh, play games and enjoy their music. Great entertainers!
Thank you for opening up your home and sharing your life with me. We'll meet again. Saludos!

This was my first experience, Graham, Saranne and the girls are very friendly and welcoming from the beginning. The food is delicious, fresh and local, and the cakes were outrageously delicious and a perfect end to lunch and/or dinner. The views are outstanding with snow topped mountains in the distance and lots of greenery and many Olive trees around the house. The beauty was even heightened for a few days when we had snow on the ground.
I Will miss the family and its friendly atmosphere.
I highly recommend Graham and Saranne if you need to get away from it all

I feel blessed that I could stay with Saranne, Graham and they're family.
I apreciated a lot that we talked beforehand about our expectations, and the conditions and that they cared that the situation fits for both parties. When I arrived they welcomed me warmly and I feelt very comfortable with them at all time. So I felt like an new family member soon. To work with Graham was great fun and we were laughting a lot. We had a great time together and I apreciated to spend time with them and thei're friends but as well to have time to read and reflect for myself and my life. It was interesting to share some of our live stories together (and there are many!). Graham took us as well to different places, so I could see how they press the olive oil in the local press, we visited a honey producer, went to different wineyards and an organic olive oil producer. And do you know how spicy fresh olive oil tastes? I had no clue, but I do now. Thank you for sharing and caring my dear friends! I wish you all the best and hope to see you soon!

A Wonderful  Experience!
This was my first landbased experience and I have a feeling it will be hard to beat. Saranne and Graham are gracious and fun hosts. They're welcoming and quickly this felt like a second home. I really enjoyed feeling like part of the family and spending time with their energetic kids who often provided humorous moments. The farmhouse is in an absolutely stunning and inspirational location in LeMarche. If you don't know the LeMarche region, it's worth exploring and getting to know. In the evening we socialized and had fabulous dinners together. Such fantastic food and cooking! Graham always found time and patience for us, so you either develop new skills or show off your experience. I had a great time with them and getting to know some of their neighbors.
Thanks again Graham and Saranne for everything. Hope to see you again soon. Ciao!

Dear Saranne and Graham,
What an honor to stay at your beautiful house in Le Marche! As it was my first experience, I couldn't have found a better place to start. I've been here just over 4 weeks and indeed it was too short!! The family has been absolutely great and I’ve got to know them very well, what gave me a very welcome and ‘home’ feeling! The house is on a beautiful spot and the views are stunning!! Pruning olive trees with this view is just great!! The last weeks I helped to build the natural swimming pond, an fantastic project to learn more about!! I’ll be back to swim in it for sure!!

I liked it very much that you’re involved in every aspect of the family life, but also get lots of freedom to have your own time to get out and explore the area! Good nights with fun, music, BBQ’s and drinks, jazz or concert, all in my memory forever! I have had an absolute great time and cannot thank the family enough for this great experience, and getting to know all their friends and local addresses for the best stuff! I’m dying for some of the duck eggs of the neighbor farmer right now!! ;)
This is absolutely an amazing good place to go and stay! You won’t regret it at all!
Dear Saranne and Graham and the girls, many thanks again and I’ll see you soon!!!
Ciao Crijn

Graham and Saranne are fun, easygoing and a joy to be around. Having a great time relaxing outside in the beautiful countryside in idyllic surroundings. Fantastic food, especially the olive oil, and great company with nights spent drinking a well earned beer or wine in a gorgeous and comfortable house. Graham, Saranne are incredibly welcoming and it is very easy to fit right in as part of the household. They are full of energy so you must be ready for this, but boy, is it worth it! I feel lucky and privileged to have been here. If you are up for a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere and lots of fun and good humour with the family then look no further.

Graham and Saranne are top notch hosts. Had a magnificent time and really became part of their family. They have a lot to offer any prospective visitor to Italy as they really enjoy being part of the Italian culture. Learnt an incredible amount about olive trees and oil and Italy as well as the history of the area. I really cannot recommend them enough. They are constantly focussed on integrating themselves into the world around them without having an impact on the environment or the culture. It is wonderful to spend time with people who are so easygoing and in touch with the world around them. Both Graham and Saranne are a whole heap of fun and have a great sense of humour. Their children are a delight to be around and have truly incredible amounts of energy. I especially enjoyed the puppet show :). I will definitely try to come back round to swim in the eco swimming pool again. After being with these hosts you will never look at olive oil in the same way, it truly is incredible. Good luck in all your future endeavours and keep in touch. I will miss you all and your wonderful home. if you are up for creating space in your life, with the guidance of an experienced nature based family then look no further!
