Sustainability involves living in a balanced way so that what we consume does not vastly exceed what we contribute. Here at our farm, this involves taking care of our land in a minimum impact way so that our land can continue to take care of us and provide us with our needs. We promote a harmonious and healthy equilibrium between the Earth and all of its inhabitants and this in turn creates the balance we all need in our lives. Balance.

In the heart of
rural agricultural Italy
We live in a healthy creative small farming community in Colmurano, Le Marche, Central Italy. This community supports and promotes organic and sustainable agriculture. Life here is traditional and communal, each resident, family, farmer or smallholder contributing in a positive way to growing high quality produce for sharing and selling at local markets, all without putting too much strain on the environment. Sustainable agriculture is based on minimum impact farming practices. It promotes and supports social responsibility, is good for the environment and good for us and our families.

Here at Laughter in the Leaves, we have created an exceptional experience within the boundaries of nature. From a ruined, abandoned wine production house, we have built a fully restored eco- home, incorporating a vineyard, olive grove, veg and herb gardens, truffle and walnut grove, eco-systems and our natural swimming pool, all built into the flora and fauna of the region, with minimum impact on the environment and surroundings. Our journey from city life to rural farmers continues to prove a huge inspriation for all those who visit. Whether it's just a simple getaway for some peace and quiet, a break for a week with family or friends, or you wish to gain a deeper insight and understanding into how we have made the transition from our previous lifestyle to this, this is the place for you. All our guests feel totally relaxed and rejuvenated while here and inspired on departure, everything in between happens naturally.

We support all our local Artisan producers
Without supporting our local producers, many of them would simply not survive. Under the intense strain of low value, cut price supermarket produce, the quality of our food would slip further downhill. We work hard to support and promote these artisans to ensure they continue trading. We are grateful for all the training, education and sharing of knowledge they have given us along the way, which has equipped us to share this knowledge with our guests. From making bread, curing meat, cheese, wine, honey, olive oil, truffles, cakes and preserves, we use these products in creating local traditional recipes, and serve this great wholesome and nutritious food and wine in the best possible way while promoting the local community.
